iRest® Yoga Nidra
iRest meditation is a deep relaxing, secular form of mindfulness practice that is accessible by anyone even without any previous meditation experience. Studies have shown that iRest benefits for people with depression, anxiety, sleep problems, trauma, chronic pain, while improving overall well-being.
About iRest® Yoga Nidra
iRest® stands for Integrative Restoration. It is a research-based transformative practice of deep relaxation and meditative inquiry.
iRest was developed by Dr Richard Miller, a spiritual teacher, author, yogic scholar, researcher and clinical psychologist, who combined traditional yogic practice with Western psychology and neuroscience.
iRest is taught by thousands of people across the globe in a wide range of settings, from health centres, schools and community centres, to yoga studios, correctional facilities and military hospitals.
The practice is based on the iRest 10 Step protocol, where we observe just the way we are through sensing our body and our breath, and by meeting our difficult emotions and beliefs in a safe way. The practice teaches us to be fully present, no matter what is happening in our life, cultivating unshakable well-being and resiliency within us.
Research has shown that iRest effectively reduces stress and anxiety, PTSD, depression, insomnia, chronic pain and chemical dependency while increasing overall health, resiliency and wellbeing.
iRest practice can be explored in either a group setting, or in a Dyad Co-Meditation.
